Ever wondered if kids and ‘entrepreneurlism’ go together? We have. The reason being that we are aware that kids love to be their own bosses once in a while instead of always being ‘told’ what to do – they love taking initiative. And that was exactly the purpose of our much-awaited event KidzMamia held on 14 January 2017, brought together to act as a (first for many) platform for these energetic individuals who might one day bloom into full-blown successful entrepreneurs in life. And trust us when we say, they know their game! After numerous site inspections, we chose ‘Salt n pepper Restaurant’ as our venue for a Saturday evening, and sent out brochures for interested kids to get their stalls booked at the hall. And to our joyous surprise, they sold like hot cakes by a bunch of excited youth within a time period of merely 2 days. A total of 19 stalls were to be arranged and catered to by 2-3 kids each. What an evening to look forward to. Our kids were all set for the day with their banners ready and their goodies set up. It was an evening sure to entertain all- we could already sense that. What’s one inevitable part of a fun-filled evening? Food and drinks. And we had that well taken care of by the kids at the scrumptious sandwiches, burgers, french fries, cupcakes, waffles, candies and fresh juices’ stalls. At a reasonable price of max 6 SR, who would’nt call these a tempting grab?! And what comes to the mind when we call it a fun-filled evening? Games and activities. That category was well covered too by our little champs with their dart games, ‘raffle draw and win a prize’, riddles, dominoes, sand art, and face painting. The enthusiasm encompassing the evening was outclass. Our main purpose seemed to have fulfilled- to boost self-confidence of the children, enhance their creativity, develop their skills of communication and social dealing, and create in them a sense of optimism, hard-work, and competitiveness so they know nothing comes easy in life and if you want to make something happen, you’ve gotta work for it! Their happy faces and heavy pockets towards the end of the evening was an indication of the same- that they really did work for it. Also, a charity box was set up and a good amount of charity collected by our empathic business fellows. Last but not the least a big thank you to our volunteers who helped bring together KidzMamia in a relatively short period of time.
