Ramadan Themed Sesssion and Pyssla bead creations
GUG – Season 2 – Session 3
Conducted on May 25 , 2017
As Ramadan approached and the adults got busy in their respective responsibilities, Elite Club Jeddah decided to hold a session for the youngsters, who by the way just got done with their academic sessions, and deserved a relaxing break, alongwith a kickstart for Ramadan.
Our GUG (Grow Up Great) Season 2, Session 3 was based on the same theme; to enliven the spirit of the holy month in children in a way they would enjoy and would want to follow. The activities were divided into a Pyssla segment and a Ramadan segment. The creative little minds were handed over a few design templates to form designs out of pyssla beads, but they outdid us by willing to come up with designs of their own, and enjoyed it so much they couldnt get over it despite the lack of time (which is fixed per session). We, therefore handed over little packages of pyssla beads and boards to them for take away as well.
The Ramadan segment, hosted by Rabia Azam, included cutting out 30 chits and placing them in a bucket. Each chit had a good deed written on it and each child got their own bucket. They were to take these home and take out one good-deed-chit per day throughout Ramadan, ponder on, and act upon it. What a blessed and fun Ramadan would they have making Pyssla designs and giving themselves a good deed to be performed as a task this entire month!
Not only this, but kids were also thrilled when Hamburglar showed up, and Happy meals are always a fave too. Also, chocolate lollipops by SHA Chocoart were a big hit for their scrumptious outlook and taste. Photography was carried out by Supersonic Clicks, and Aloe For Life was our sponsor for the event. They held a lucky draw, the winner of which was Noreen Faruqi.
Thanks to our team members for their cooperation; Manal, Kiran and Nida, and thanks to our guests, Rabia and Faiza. With all your support, we cover our milestones step by step. And thanks to the beautiful children who participated and made all our efforts worthwhile.
